Lost Rings In Sydney Park St Peters

December 14th, 2009 by Brad Lovell

After a quick phone call from Melanie, I was on my way to Sydney Park at St Peters (Inner West of Sydney). Melanie had been playing around in the park and decided to put her wedding and engagement ring in her pocket for safe keeping. After she had finished her activities, she reached into her pockets only to find both rings we’re missing. I mentioned to Melanie I would hop in the car and meet her at the park ASAP. Two rings sitting in the grass of a busy park would get picked up in no time. About 30 minutes later I arrived at the park and met Melanie and her husband. Melanie mentioned to me she had both good and bad news. The good news being her husband found the rings in the grass with a flash light. And the bad news being I had driven out there for no reason hehe. Melanie and her husband obviously felt bad that I had driven out there on a Sunday night, and offered me more money than my regular call out fee. I could not accept the extra money as I was not the one who found the rings. My primary concern was that Melanie had her rings back on her finger. I told Melanie and her husband there is no reason to feel bad. This has happened many times before, and is just a part of the job I love :)

Wedding & Engagement Ring Lost At Soccer Oval

April 29th, 2009 by Brad Lovell

The weather in Sydney is getting cooler, and soccer season has begun. I received a phone call from Felicity who lost both her Wedding and Engagement ring on a soccer field at Lane Cove. It is horrible enough losing one ring, but to lose both rings must have been a gut wrenching feeling for Felicity. I really felt for her as these two rings represented a very important part of her life. For safety reasons, all players are required to remove their rings before a soccer game. Felicity removed her rings and put them in her mobile phone pouch. After the game was finished, Felicity recalled using her mobile phone. It was possible the rings could have fallen whilst removing the phone from its pouch. After searching her bag house and car, Felicity decided to call me to search the area where the rings could have dropped from the pouch. I arrived to the job a little early, and noticed Felicity had put up signs around the park offering a reward for the return of her lost rings. I knew it would be a long shot finding Felicity’s rings, as it can be difficult finding a lost ring when you have an idea where it dropped. But I remained positive and began my search in the area Felicity believed the rings could have dropped. The area was very noisy, with lots of signals coming from bottle caps and other rubbish. Almost every swing I did gave off one or two signals which is very frustrating. But the rings could not be very deep yet, so it was just a matter of investigating the surface signals. Much to my surprise, after about 1.5 hours of searching, I found Felicity’s wedding ring hidden in the grass. This lifted my confidence, I was sure the engagement ring must have been close by. After about an other hour or so of searching, I was unable to find the engagement ring. I mentioned to Felicity I was sorry, but I will come back tomorrow and continue the search. Felicity was very grateful that I was able to find her wedding ring, and gave me a generous reward. I went back the following day and did another 3 hour search for the engagement ring, but once again no luck. I have a feeling two things may have happened… either someone has found the ring, or the lawn cutting machine has hit the ring and launched it somewhere else. If anyone happens to find a white gold engagement ring at Blackman Park Lane Cove, please contact me so I can organise its return to Felicity. Hopefully photos of the lost ring will be coming soon.

Lost Diamond Engagement Ring

March 7th, 2009 by Brad Lovell

I received a phone call from Nicola who had the misfortune of losing her very expensive diamond engagement ring. A matter of fact, Nicola did not even realise her engagement ring was missing…this was brought to her attention by a very observant friend. After tracing back her steps, Nicola beleived the last time she noticed the ring on her finger was on Monday, and realised it was missing on Wednesday. She called me on the Friday to help her find it. The problem with this particular job was, Nicola has no idea where it may have dropped. The only clue was Nicola and her husband had been ripping up grass in their yard the weekend prior. The ring may have fallen off while doing this, but Nicola had a slight recollection of seeing the ring on her finger the Monday after pulling up the grass. I mentioned on the phone that there is very little chance of me finding the ring without knowing the general vicinity of where it was lost, but I was happy to help search the yard anyway. At least by doing this, it would make Nicola feel at ease that her ring is not lost in her yard. So off I headed to Matraville in Sydneys South-Eastern suburbs. I began the search in Nicola’s back yard. After finding lots of scrap metal, and a couple of coins I moved to the front yard to search where Nicola had been doing some weeding. Unfortunately after about an hour and a half of searching, I was unable to find Nicola’s lost engagement ring. I am hoping with time, Nicola will find the lost ring somewhere in her home or car. Nicola, it was a pleasure meeting you, your husband and little girl. I am sorry I was unable to find your engagement ring. Please let me know if the ring ever shows up.
