Gold Ring Lost And Found Freshwater Beach

March 10th, 2010 by Brad Lovell

Tuesday I was called out to Freshwater Beach to search for Dan’s lost gold ring. Dan had placed the ring on his t shirt, and when lifting his shirt the ring had fallen somewhere in the sand. Dan had an idea where the ring was, but frustratingly could not find it in the loose sand. About an hour after Dan’s phone call, I arrived at Freshwater Beach and found where Dan was sitting. He showed me the spot he believed the ring to be. After about 3 minutes of searching, I received a nice clear signal from my metal detector which was  in the gold signature range. With the use of my pin pointing device, I was able to locate the signal which was indeed Dan’s lost gold ring. After some of the tricky and difficult jobs I have had lately, it was nice to have a quick efficient recovery :) Dan, thanks so much for your honesty and quick internet payment. Very much appreciated.

Platinum Wedding Ring Lost at Freshwater Beach?

August 19th, 2009 by Brad Lovell

I got a call from Andrew earlier on in the week. Andrew had been swimming in the water close to the rock pool at Freshwater Beach, Harbord. When he arrived home from his swim, he noticed his platinum wedding ring was no longer on his finger. This horrible feeling had him head back to the spot he was swimming earlier that day. After searching the area to no avail, he decided to give me a call. As it turned out, Andrew was flying out to Japan that night to see his wife. He had not yet told her that the ring had been lost. Over the phone, Andrew described the area to me where the ring may have dropped. The following morning I noticed a message on my phone, Andrew’s flight to Japan had been cancelled due to maintenance problems. So I drove out to Freshwater Beach and met up with Andrew who showed me where he had been swimming. After searching the rocky area and water for 2 hours, I gave up on the search. I figured the ring could have been washed anywhere, and was planning to come back with my friend Tony another day. Later on that day, I received a call from Andrew. He said he was planning on going back to the rocks, but this time with a ring tied to some fishing line. He wanted to try and replicate what could have happened to his wedding ring. When he was searching through the box, he surprisingly found his platinum wedding ring! Turns out Andrew briefly went through this same box after he got back from his swim. This was great news. Andrew could now fly to Japan to see his wife, with the wedding ring now on his finger :)

Lost Platinum Wedding Ring At Freshwater Beach

My friend asked me the other day, why do you post the unsuccessful jobs on your website. Wouldn’t this turn away possible business?? This could be the case, I really don’t know for sure, but at the same time I will continue posting the jobs I have been unsuccessful at recovering. I want people to know I am not a miracle man, and I cannot find ‘every’ lost item. I received a phonecall from Graham last week. He had lost his Platinum Wedding Ring. Unfortunately in this particular case, Graham had no idea where the Ring had actually fallen off. He was swimming at Freshwater beach near Harbord. He recalls feeling the ring on his finger after having a swim. The last time he noticed the ring was while walking to the Kiosk. It wasn’t until he and his wife we’re at dinner that night, he noticed the ring was missing. I warned Graham that it is hard enough to find someones ring when they have an idea where it fell off, but when you don’t have an idea…it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. But most of the time, people need to feel they have done all they can to find their lost ring. It gives them a sense of closure. So I mentioned to Graham I would be happy to search for his lost wedding ring. We squared off an area where Graham spent the day on the beach, including his walking path to the Kiosk. On this particular day, there was another treasure hunter at the beach with his metal detector. Graham asked him kindly to join in on the hunt. The more surface area we covered the better. Any how, after a good 2/3 hour search, we had no luck at finding Graham’s lost platinum wedding band. If anyone happens to find a lost wedding ring at Freshwater beach, please contact me at bradl@bigpond.net.au and i will forward your details to Graham. I am sure he would be happy to pay you a generous reward.

Wedding Ring Lost At Freshwater Beach

Rodney Reunited With His Lost Wedding Ring

Rodney Reunited With His Lost Wedding Ring

Rodney lost his wedding ring at Freshwater beach, on what was an incredibly hot day in Sydney. Infact it was a day that reached over 40 degrees celsius. I recieved an email from Rodney the night he lost his wedding ring, and I had organised to search for it the following morning. When dealing with beach drops, time is critical. Unfortunately for us, the following morning at Freshwater beach was a large surf competition, so we we’re unable to start searching for the ring until later that afternoon. By 4pm, the crowd was beginning to dispurse. Rodney and his wife showed me the area they we’re sitting the day before, and we began to mark an area where they beleived the ring to be. I added a few more meters in each direction as a safety buffer zone. As it turns out, the buffer zone was a good move, as I found the ring within about 5 minutes of searching. It was in a different spot to where Rodney and his wife remembered they were sitting. The ring could have moved throughout the day with people walking over the top of it. Rodney and his wife we’re estatic to have the wedding ring back. This was Rodney’s second wedding ring, and he was not planning on buying another one if I was unable to find his current lost one. It was incredibly rewarding to receive a hug from Rodneys wife, and a man hug from Rodney himself… And not to mention a kiss for his beautiful baby daughter. It was an honour recover the wedding ring for such a lovely family.
